Get startedUnder New York’s Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program, also known as CDPAP, you can take charge of your home health care by selecting a caregiver that you know and trust.
You even have the flexibility to create your own schedule and allocate your insurance-approved home care hours in whatever way works for you.
This way, those who care for their chronically ill or physically disabled loved one can get the compensation they need and deserve.
Best of all? It only takes one phone call to get started.
Your loved ones will ensure you are safe, comfortable, and cared for. You'll get the care you deserve—and they'll get the compensation they need.
Your child, friend, or family member will receive a competitive paycheck every week. You'll feel better knowing they don't have to struggle, stress, or sacrifice to take care of you.
There's nothing like a familiar face. Enjoy spending time with someone you already love and trust, instead of having to meet a new aide.
Feel empowered by making your own choices. Choosing and training your loved one as a caregiver is a gracious solution for everyone.
“When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, I was assigned aides to help me with every day tasks. As my situation deteriorated and COVID hit, I was very concerned to have strangers come into my home. My daughter quit her job and comes to my house every single day to care for me! Between her and my G-d son, I am well taken care of.
I am so grateful they both get paid to care for me. It makes this diagnosis a little bit easier. The silver lining is the time I spend each day with my daughter and G-d son. A special thank you to Attending Home Care for their stellar service in ensuring everything goes smooth each day.”

Any patient that needs home care services, and has a family or friend that they prefer to choose as their caregiver, is eligible for CDPAP — regardless of their age. This program is covered by Medicaid. If the patient doesn’t have Medicaid, we can help them get it.
A caregiver is there to help patients with their daily routines. That can include preparing meals, taking care of personal hygiene, keeping the house clean, and transporting patients to and from their medical appointments. Unlike traditional home care services, a CDPAP caregiver can also assist with medical needs such as administering medications, dressing wounds, giving insulin injections, and feeding patients through feeding tubes.
You can choose anyone aged 18 or above who can legally work in the US, except for the spouse or parent of the patient. (If the patient is over 21, the parent can be the caregiver.)
You can ask your family, friends, religious circle, synagogue, or church. You can also put an ad in a newspaper or any advertising platform.
No special training is required, but the caregiver should be trustworthy, highly reliable, and kind. They also must be someone that is capable of assisting the patient with his/her specific needs.
Attending offers a competitive salary and benefits package and follows DOL and DOH guidelines. Please call for more information about this as the rates vary depending on the patient’s location and increase from time to time.
